This Exhibition ” Branches of Hope” including paintings and animation, that started January 13, addresses various aspects of Autism Spectrum Condition, will continue until January 31st in Gallery 1313, located in 1313 Queen Street West, Wednesday to Sunday 1-6pm.
First day of my show” Branches of Hope” in Gallery 1313 with a very special guest, the eminent Psychology professor and scholar, Dr. Juan Pascual-Leone (left in image) and our very caring and supportive director Phil Anderson(right in image). Professor Leone who is also a poet, and very knowledgeable in visual arts, spent hours giving me wonderful lessons about art, psychology and existential philosophy. He was very present and gave a lot of generous feedback and words of wisdom, kindness, encouragements as well as constructive criticism and useful suggestions. In addition, he changed the names of many of the paintings! 🙂 I felt I met one of my close family members such as an uncle who showered me with attention. I don’t think my life will be the same again after this meeting!
I was in the news!, City Night page of Toronto Star in December, I am in the bottom row second from the right! I am trying to find a higher quality copy. Thanks to Phil Anderson the director of Gallery 1313 for organizing and curating another great exhibition. Also in the second image below my photo is in the SNAPD of Bloor West, in January 2016(Bottom Row in the middle)
This is my new painting, I know I should leave the viewers free in their interpretation, but If I may I just want to mention that I had people with Autism in mind when painting this which was the focus of my project since September, but I dared to deviate from my style by breaking the tradition and adding a detailed centred focus which was a no no for me up to now in painting regardless of the subject….maybe I should stop explaining at this point….did I say too much already?
